Abstract

This article’s goal is to describe Gilberto Mendes and Jorge Peixinho’s participation in the Darmstadt courses and other activities in Europe, Brazil, and other countries in America. The letters Jorge Peixinho wrote to Gilberto Mendes between 1964 and 1993 will be summarized. Interviews, documents gathered for the IMD Archiv at the Internationales Musikinstitut Darmstadt, the Gilberto Mendes Collection of the Center for the Memory of the Arts, the Department of Music at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo, and interviews are the main sources of information for this article.
